Over 90 campers, carers and support staff from around Australia descended upon Camp Manyung in Mt Eliza to celebrate the week-long 76th National CampMDA.

Although the weather was temperamental on day one with rain showers, it slowly became warmer, and was fantastic by the end of CampMDA.

With many activities scheduled, there was something for everyone to get excited about and all activities had great participation.

Laser Skirmish was a huge hit, as was the visit by Roaming Reptiles where both campers and carers had the chance to stroke a snake or cuddle a croc!

Past Melbourne Football player and then coach of the St Kilda Football Club, Stan Alves held the audience captivated with his presentation which encompassed many aspects of his life and not a dry eye was in the house by the time he completed his presentation. “Inspirational” was a common quote provided by many at the end.

With their lights flashing, sirens wailing and hoses spewing litres of water we welcomed the local CFA unit and crew who came to give all the campers an informative presentation (they did advise that recycled water was being used).

Of course Party Night saw Peter “Karaoke” perform for the 20th time while campers and carers did their best to out-do each other with the “Bogan” themed night.

A fantastic week was had by all at National CampMDA 76.
