It’s that time of the year again when the Super Dad’s Walk returns for 2016, taking place this Saturday 28th February, with over 130 ‘Super Dads’ taking to the streets of Blackburn in support of Muscular Dystrophy Australia.
The walk will see hundreds of ‘Super Dads’ walk from house-to-house in the local streets, sampling beer and cuisines from seven different countries including Italy, China, America, Mexico, Greece and France. The unique food and beer is provided by Blackburn locals, who put their hand up each year to host the Super Dads.
The Super Dad’s Walk was started by a group of locals in support of their good friends Brett and Katrina, whose son Ben is living with Muscular Dystrophy. Funds are raised via a registration fee, which dads are always more than happy to pay for the delicious food and drink on offer.
The Super Dad’s Walk is now in its fifth year, with a dedicated group of dads coming together each year to make a difference and support research into finding a cure for Muscular Dystrophy.
Founder of the Super Dad’s Walk Brett Bugeja dropped in to present MDA’s Executive Director Boris M Struk with a cheque for the funds raised from the fifth Super Dad’s Walk. Over 130 ‘Super Dad’s’ raised more than $21,000 with even more to come! What an incredible effort from an even more incredible group of dads, thank you so much ‘Super Dad’s!’
