The ABC recently spent time with MDA founder and ambassador, Boris M Struk, and his family documenting his achievements since setting up Australia’s first muscular dystrophy support organisation over 30 years ago.
It is with great pride that we share with you this powerful story, now available on ABC iView and which starts at the 19.12 minute mark of the episode on Monday, 28th October.
Boris has been responsible for raising in excess of $45 million for muscular dystrophy services and research. Everyone here at MDA is committed to continuing his work, raising more funds and being able to offer even more support for Australians living with neuromuscular conditions.
MDA has a strong commitment to research and is the major sponsor of the National Muscular Dystrophy Research Centre (NMDRC). Funds raised by our supporters also helped establish the multidisciplinary Neuromuscular Clinic at the Royal Children’s Hospital and we continue to be a major funder of this crucial service for children and families.
