ACTIVITIES

Monday 19th January – Leave Moonee Ponds at 10.30am sharp. We were all prepared for a long drive. After a brief stop at Traralgon for lunch we made our way to Coonawarra. We arrived at about 4.30pm and got settled in. After dinner everyone got familiar with the surroundings and sat around and chatted.

Tuesday 20th January – After breakfast some campers played hockey and others wandered around. We had an early lunch and then headed off to Sale RAAF Base for a tour. This took up the afternoon and then we headed back to camp for dinner. In the evening some campers and carers watched National Lampoons European Vacation on video and others sat and talked.

Wednesday 21st January – Today we spent the day in Lakes Entrance where everybody did his or her own thing upon arrival. The camper/carer photos were taken in a park by the beach. In the afternoon there was a boat cruise organised which was nice and relaxing. The evening was relaxing as we watched the Australian Open in TV whilst some enjoy a quick dip in the pool.

Thursday 22nd January –  We spent the day at the campsite. It was a relaxing day to do whatever anybody wanted. The swimming pool seemed to be a big hit as did the tennis court for hockey. The flying fox got a test run as well. The evening party was a hit with the older boys having a few drinks and the CD player working overtime. A great party night overall!!!!!

Friday 23rd January – Packed up and headed off home rather early. We stopped in Traralgon for lunch and were back in Moonee Ponds by 3.30pm.

HIGHLIGHTS

The camp was fantastic. It had a great group of campers and carers. It ran without a hitch. The campsite was sensational. The only draw back was that it was so far away. An extra day at Coonawarra would have been sufficient.

David Middleton was not happy with his carer as he was smothering. Middleton had a shower on the sly whiles his carer was playing tennis. He said he was not one to complain but to never put him with the same carer again.
